Publication of the week: Professor Judith Bray

Judith Bray, Unlocking Land Law (4th ed., London: Routledge, 2014). ISBN: 978-1-444-109116-0.

Unlocking-Land-LawUnlocking Land Law is part of the Unlocking the Law series of very popular textbooks previously published by Hodder and now published by Routledge. The new edition has been updated to include key changes in the law and in particular the chapter on Equitable Rights in Land has been extensively rewritten. The key decisions of Stack v Dowden and Kernott v Jones are both considered in detail. The edition retains many of the most popular features of the previous books including sample essay questions at the end of each chapter and summaries throughout the book. Topic areas are broken down into sections with logical progression through key issues with extensive use of charts, diagrams and flow charts to reinforce the information in the body of the text. Students traditionally find Land Law a difficult subject to study and Unlocking Land Law introduces students to this subject in an interesting and accessible way.
